I love how my son loves. His generous heart towards his teacher, his classmates is so fulfilling and rewarding to see as a mother. As he was leaving class the other day, he was helping his classmate with her backpack. Then he turned to me with an ear-to-ear smile while running full speed in my direction. Let my heart be still.
I have to admit that I had a serious case of mamarazzi last week! I was that mom. The mom that took pictures from every angle, ever spot in the house and classroom, just in case. The mom that held onto his backpack a little longer before letting go. The mom that stood a few extra minutes outside the classroom just in case he needed his mommy. He did great. I am so proud of my boys.
And as we finish up week two of school, I decided to write a mother's prayer: my hopes, desires and aspirations for my boys as they continue to embark this little life adventure.
Elijah & Levi,
You are my joy. My heart's treasure.
I pray you lead a life for Christ.
I don't have all the answers or know of God's plans
for your future; but as long as you love God and
love people with a humble heart I do not fear for you.
Guard your hearts... (Proverbs 4:23)
Be kind to yourself and live a present life full of freedom and joy.
Do not worry about tomorrow.
I pray that you will love graciously, stand taller, laugh louder
and dream with no limits.
Life is peppered with temporary failures, heartbreak and uncertainty.
Be quick to listen and slow to speak...(James 1:19)
Seek His guidance and perfect love for your life.
He is the fountain of youth.
Embrace who you are.
March to your own drum.
There is not a quality you possess that wasn't thought of,
created and given to you that does not serve a purpose.
I pray that you see the hurt children.
The ones that are mocked or ignored and you befriend them.
I pray you stand between the abuser and the abused,
because you are a child of God.
And so are they.
Trust in the Lord and His plan for your life.
Follow Him. Love Him. Thank Him fervently.
Jesus is the only one that will ever love
you more than I.
I am already so proud of you.
Thank you, God for choosing me to be
Elijah and Levi's mother.
